Volunteer Information Sessions
Volunteer Information Sessions are offered at various times throughout the year at the Forsyth County office in Winston Salem and in the Davie, Stokes, and Rowan County offices. View the 2012 schedule for Volunteer Information Sessions.
Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers that have interaction with hospice patients and their families are required to receive a minimum of 12 hours of volunteer training. All other agency volunteers are required to complete 3 hours of training to become familiar with the agency and the volunteer services department.
Requirements for becoming a Patient/Family Volunteer
- Volunteer Application
- Background Check
- TB Test
- 3 personal references
- Interview/Assessment
- Copy of Driver’s License
- Copy of Auto Insurance Declaration Page
- 12 hours of Patient/Family Training
Requirements for becoming an Administrative/Office Volunteer
- Volunteer Application
- Interview/Assessment
- TB Test
- Copy of Driver’s License
- Copy of Auto Insurance Declaration Page
- 3 hours of general volunteer training
*Community groups and individuals who support Hospice & Palliative CareCenter through meals, baking, sewing, gardening, or other special projects are not subject to the volunteer training requirements listed above.
Volunteer Training
Volunteer Training sessions are held at various times throughout the year in Forsyth, Stokes, Davie, and Rowan County. Training sessions are offered in the evenings and during the day.
