Special Programs and Populations

The Hospice Veterans Project

The Hospice Veterans Project was initiated in order to honor, serve and support the veterans in our care.

Honor: Hospice & Palliative CareCenter honors veterans with special ceremonies on Veteran holidays and with celebrations of their service throughout the year.

Serve: Hospice & Palliative CareCenter serves all sectors of the veteran population with specialized knowledge related to veteran benefits. We will help work with the Veterans Administration to ensure that the veteran receives all needed benefits. HPCC is also recording veteran's stories for families and for the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project.

Support: Hospice & Palliative CareCenter will educate staff members about the unique experiences that shape veterans end of life preferences including post-traumatic stress disorder, emotions related to military service and other special issues.
